South dakota Peace Officer's Association
The South Dakota Peace Officers’ Association (SDPOA) is made up of active and retired South Dakota law enforcement personnel who seek to:
- Develop a close and personal relationship between the various law enforcement officials of the State of South Dakota;
- Maintain a steadfast resolution to guard the rights, liberties, and welfare of all citizens;
- Foster any project which will help to bring law enforcement officials to be recognized as professionals;
- Increase the efficiency of its members by aiding in the improvement of the Civil Service laws and demanding the enforcement of same;
- Encourage members to attain a high degree of skill and efficiency.
The SDPOA is a statewide organization that provides a unified forum for all enforcement officers. It can provide support for officers, agencies, and associations in endeavors that will benefit law enforcement and can provide a means for all officers to express support or concern on topics that effect everyone.
This unified support can be critical when, for example, a legislator tries to make assaulting a law enforcement officer a Class One Misdemeanor. Other topics that you may have a concern about, might include for example, benefits, retirement, or training.
SDPOA, comprising of and representing ALL South Dakota Law Enforcement Officers, can and will have a strong voice on things that affect us all. Together we can make a difference. LET’S DO IT! Accept this invitation and join your team.
